How can you quit smoking weed in the most manageable, tolerable way possible?!

Question: How can you quit smoking weed in the most manageable, tolerable way possible.?
I've been smoking since I was 16. I''m about 23 now. It started out as me hanging out with these kids that partied a lot the parents were never around or they were fighting. A bunch've losers. I didn't even really inhale then so I didn't care for it. It went from one bag a month, to a bag a week to a bag every 3 to 4 days now. It's a problem. It's a very big problem. My boyfriend and I both smoke and he always says let's quit, we did for a few months once, but now I really can't stop. I love it. All my best friends smoke a lot. I love them. I know a lot of people who quit that stop hanging out with their friends that smoke, but I can't do that. These are good people that just blaze up, I need to just quit on my own for my own good. Just if anyone has any suggestions on manageable, more tolerable techniques and methods to quit I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.Health Question & Answer

Well, first of all weed has literally zero physically addictive properties. This has been scientifically proven time after time after time, and is 100% fact. However, like most anything it can become psychologically addictive and your body can become used to using it (which is very different than physical addiction). This means that you want to continue smoking for psychological reasons.

So first of all, you should probably read up on the benefits of not smoking it. Knowing this information can help motivate you to not smoke. Just for example, your cognitive abilities improve when you don't smoke weed (faster information processing and better problem solving). Smoking weed (or anything really) is unhealthy for your lungs. Because you smoke weed, your lungs can not utilize oxygen as well as it could (which is bad for a plethora of reasons). Those are just a couple things...

As far as manageable ways to stop... there are many ways you can try. Certain exercise regimens can help tremendously with quitting ESPECIALLY jogging or running (which is what I did to stop weed). You could try to start a regimen where you start to do runs once or twice a day and work your way up to running more times a day or longer distances. After running, most people WILL NOT want to smoke for at least a couple hours! This means the more your run the less you'll want smoke. So as you get in better shape, you will smoke less and less! Additionally, distance runners often say they get a "runners high" which you may want to research. It could be good motivation for you.Health Question & Answer

HA! And those ignorant fools say it is not addicting. Just quit smoking it and if you give into peer pressure easily, do not hang around people that smoke until you can.Health Question & Answer

I had the same problem, and honestly the cravings never go away. I've been clean for 8 months and still want to blaze everyday. My daughter was born in August, and my baby's father threatens to drug test me. Honestly, that's the only way I stay sober, for my daughter. The only thing I can suggest is try to avoid the lifestyle. That's all i can say, and I know it's not a lot of help, but also try to find other activities to fill the time when you'd normally be smoking!Health Question & Answer
