Osteoarthritis in my neck...21 years old?!
Question: Osteoarthritis in my neck...21 years old.?
I went to a chiropractor and he said that I have phase 1 of osteoarthritis in my neck. He said it has something to do with my neck being completely straight instead of a little curve in the spine. I'm only 21 and I don't think this should be a problem yet.
My questions are:
1). Do you think this chiropractor was just making something seem worse than it is so he could get my business (although I told them that being outside my insurance network I wouldn't be going back there).?
2). Does anyone know enough about oa to know if what he said sounds credible.?
I'm thinking of going to a different Dr. within my network but I don't want to make a big deal about something that might be nothing.
Thanks for the help!Health Question & Answer

Answers:
going and getting a second opinion is not making a big deal of things. and a chiropractor isn't really qualified to make an actual diagnosis of oa. you should follow up his findings with a general practitioner, who will refer you to an arthritis doctor if needed. :)Health Question & Answer
