You may have picked up a germ or something from a contaminated carmex or lipstick or you may have gotten fever blisters. Fever blisters are a virus. You need to throw your carmex away since it will now be contaminated if you used it on those blisters. The virus will now be in the carmex and It will just give you the blisters again.

What most people don't realize is that chapstick, carmex and blistex are all addictive. People get so addicted to using them that it finally doesn't work on their lips. Same thing with eyedrops your eyes adjust to the drops after a while and they don't work anymore.

When the winter is over try going a day or so without the chapstick, or carmex so your lips don't get used to it all the time. also switch around to different kinds and that can help. Plain old vaseline will also work to help chapped lips. That was what we used before chapstick and carmex was invented.Health Question & Answer

Instead of using carmex you should try to switch to blistex or soft lips...or the plain old chapstick. The trick is to put it on regularly. It really helps when you apply it on after you shower and drink water.Health Question & Answer

put on nipple cream, it moistens dry chapped lips, works wonders.Health Question & Answer
