Answers:
i was on crutches, you can get towels or a small fleece blanket and put on the "arm pit" of the crutch ..and try NOT to use the crutch on bare skin add some layers under it so it doesnt rub..and u can let him sit on it more so he doesnt have to stand on it all the time
HOPE YOUR SON GETS BETTER:)
GOOD LUCK :DHealth Question & Answer

i used to have crushes and the clue is fur or sheep skin. his armpits would be getting soar because the runner is rubbing on them. at night before bed get wet clothes with ice in them and put it under his armpits. He also has to learn that when your on crutches, u can't be active. you have to rest and let your injury heel, then u can be active as much as you want!Health Question & Answer

for one the crutches may be too long for him.. you really shouldnt be using your armpits at all and they shouldnt touch the armpits so u may need to shorten them. as for arm pain.. its supposed to be the arms and not the armpits that hold his weight so not much for that except they will get strnger with use and rest when neededHealth Question & Answer

Someone has NOT SHOWN him how to use the crutches!
NEVER let it ride only on the underarms it damages the sweat glands!
You HAVE to have him shown the correct way, get online, and look up information on how to use the crutches, maybe even call a local pharmacy, they can tell you how it's supposed to be done!
Whyhas the doctor not taught him, and you.? It's pretty important.Health Question & Answer

I have heard that duct taping towels to the top of the crutches can help with the armpit pain. You might always try googling on proper technique with using crutches.. I know that seems like common sense, but there may be some tips on how to make it easier for him. Good luck!Health Question & Answer

They could be to tall.? and how is the padding on the top.? When i used them when i was 12 mine were both to tall and not padded, i switched over to shorter ones with almost spongy like things on it that when fully compressed still didnt touch the hard part, and it was fine!Health Question & Answer

You should probably go to the doctor
and ask if they have some padding.
Have sleepovers. He won't move around
a lot if his friends are there with him.
Provide activities that don't require him
to move around a lot. Like, in this case, video games.Health Question & Answer

try putting some extra padding on the crutches, see if that helps. also, let him know that he needs to push down on the bar and not rest his armpits on the shoulder part. that's what they told me in the hospital when i got crutchesHealth Question & Answer

Put the crutches down a bit, he should not be putting his armpits on the crutches when he walks if possible.

You can wrap a towel around the arm part to make it more comfortable when he is leaning on them.Health Question & Answer

get him a wheelchair.?
maybe put like a wash cloth over the part that goes under the arm.

he needs to stay off the leg so it can heal all the way and faster!Health Question & Answer
