In my experience, some migraines are worse than others. Sometimes I am able to function, other times I'm needing a dark quiet room because I'm so dizzy and in pain I can't function. I would say you should look into avoiding dietary triggers such as chocolate, caffeine, aged cheeses, high sodium foods, monosodium glutimate (MSG), as well as certain fruits such as nectarines, grapes, bananas and oranges, which, for unknown reasons trigger some peoples migraines. Keep a food diary and try to link dietary, or even environmental things like loud noises or bright lighting and see if you can find your triggers, and avoid them. As far as medications I would talk to your doctor about getting some medicine. I personally use naproxen/imitrex, vicodin (if its really bad) and maxalt, although there are others. Like I said talk to your doctor. Another thing to consider is hormones, I was still getting bad migraines around that time of the month until I was put on camila, a kind of birth control which for some reason or another after a month on it totally stopped, and has prevented all my hormonal migraines for the past 6 month's. And just because the migraine has already started doesn't mean you cannot take medicine, it just works better if you catch the migraine early. Some signs a migraine is starting are flashing sort of lights that aren't really there, becoming extremely thirsty suddenly, and slight head numbness or pain, and nausea.Health Question & Answer

Oh hon im sorry! I Have been getting migraines for a while. Luckily for me i get a warning sign (its called and aura) where a little black spot appears in my vision and it lets me know im about to get a migraine. Then i know to take ibuprofen and Tylenol and go straight to sleep.

If you have no warning ahead of time then i suggest you go see your doctor. There are several different medications you can take and some of them dissolve instantly on your tongue and start working immediately.

I am currently on a prescription of vitamins, alot of people who get migraines have a deficiency in certain vitamins. my doctor is having me take Riboflavin, Acetaminophen, and CoQ10 (not sure on the spelling) you may want to ask your doctor about trying this it has helped reduce the number of migraines i get by alot.

Sorry this was so long hope it helped though!

I got migraines when I was younger too and most likely you will grow out of it.

People are affected differently by them, I don't know why, I was essentially unable to do anything as well and it also made me sick to me stomach.

Bear with it, and maybe see a doctor and they can run some tests and determine why it's happening.Health Question & Answer
