Answers:
there is no difference. Oxycontin is the brand name of the drug, while oxycodone is the chemical (generic) name. Percocet is a drug which is a combination of oxycodone and acetaminophen (tylenol), which comes in various strengths of the two main ingredients. the only difference between oxycontin and oxycodone is the name. no difference in effects. the tablet looks different, but there is no difference. the FDA and DEA mandate that it be made under extremely stringent standards to be equivalent to the original drug. in many cases, generics are made by the same factory/manufacturer even!Health Question & Answer
