Ears bleeding after taking out ear ring?!

Question: Ears bleeding after taking out ear ring.?
Please read all of this before you reply..

First of all, it's not a new piercing. At all. I've had it for a few years, and never had a problem with it.

Second of all, it's not a metal allergy. Though I do have a metal allergy, they're all sterling silver, and I have absolutely no problem on the other ear, and I never have had a problem with silver.

Third, it's been this way for a couple of months now. When I put the ear ring in, it hurts a little, but not badly. After a while, it'll hurt, and when I take it out, the pain will be worse. It then bleeds a little. I've tried cleaning it, etc. It's been a while. What could this problem be.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Have you somehow nicked your earring on something.? Perhaps you sleep on that ear in some way that causes it to become highly irritated. If it gets caught on something or scraped by the insertion of an earring, irritation can ensue causing it to swell, bleed, etc. If you have normal gauge earrings, make sure the backings are not too tight. It might be best for you to purchase Bactine which is an antiseptic. Bactine is really great to use on piercings once they have healed. Whenever you remove your earrings, spray your piercings with this. This will help prevent infections and clear up any irritation.

It might be infected, especially if it's bleeding. If it's swollen, then go to a walk-in clinic or doctor just in case.Health Question & Answer
