Pain in the left side of my ribcage?!

Question: Pain in the left side of my ribcage.?
I'm in the process of finding a new doctor, and in the meantime I would just like to get some ideas on what could possibly be causing me this pain.

A few times a week I get this shooting pain in a very small area of my ribs or lungs. The pain shoots up to my neck and I have a hard time breathing. It usually lasts about 30 seconds.

Any ideas.?

Thanks!Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I have this also, mine is caused from my anxiety. I stres alot, and am always tense. I also think im dying all the time. Ive had ecgs and ct scans and its not heart or other organ related.

We are all different though, it could be something totally different for you.
Some possibilities:
Muscle tension
plesuiry
costochondritis
dislocated rib ( i get this alot, just from how i sleep)
nerve related.

It could be anything really. I have one certain spot, closer to my strenum that gives me the pain you describe. Sometimes i dont even have to move for the pain to throb for a few seconds. Im guessing thats just muscle too though.Health Question & Answer
