Painful stomach ache, what is the cause?!
Question: Painful stomach ache, what is the cause.?
It's been three times already since my boyfriend has experienced excruciating stomach pains. Today was the first time I saw it happen.
He says it starts with some back pain and cold sensations, then he feels the need to pass gas. He starts burping and then the stomach pain comes.
He says it's like having lots of gas in his stomach and he can't make it go away, then he starts getting pain as if his stomach was being stabbed, I offered to take him to the doctor but about 15 minutes later it was gone.
What could cause this.?
Any information is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.Health Question & Answer

Is his pain relieved after passing a lot of wind.?
Cramping, which can be very painful, is rarely serious if it is relieved by passing gas or a stool.
Generalized cramping pain is usually not a cause for concern unless it gets worse, lasts for longer than 24 hours, or localizes. Cramping that starts suddenly with diarrhea or other minor health problems can be quite painful but is usually not serious.
Having said that, yes, you're right to get him to see his doctor, as only a professional can examine him and diagnose his condition properly. It is impossible to say for certain what he has on here, but I mention the above just to let you see it can have a simple cause.
Pain that increases with movement or coughing and does not appear to be caused by strained muscles is more likely to be a symptom of a serious problem.
All the best to you both, and I hope bf feels much better soon.Health Question & Answer

Depends on age. If he's older(past 35), it could be his heart. Heart problems are related to stomach problems. If so, don't let them prescribe just anti acids. He needs to have a stress test.
If young, it could be gal bladder or gal bladder attack. Extremely painful (experience). The thing you want to be concerned about with gal bladder attacks is not only is it painful, but could create situations where the stones block the pancreas ducts causing the person to have pancreatis. This can lead to death or permanant diabetes (pancreas shuts down).
In both cases, be sure to get him medical help.Health Question & Answer

As unusual as it sounds, it could be his gallbladder. He might be passing stones. I had to have mine removed several years ago and it sounds like he is going through the same pain I was. It could also be his kidneys. He really needs to get it looked at by a doctor. They will run tests and find out what is actually causing it.
Just to add...You said you ate McDonalds...certain foods will bring on an attack! for me, it was tacos. I would definately tell him to have it checked out.Health Question & Answer
