My daughter had an MRI for her knee after a car accident. The O.S. was pretty sure she'd torn the meniscus after examining her, but was looking for confirmation. The MRI came back as inconclusive. They thought she had a tiny tear, but weren't positive.
After having scope surgery done, the Dr found 3 significant tears, which he repaired.
