Question: Is it just me or are the nurses that do blood tests reeeeeally patronising.?
As soon as you sit down "have you had a test before" yes i have, "its ok dont be nervous" thank you but im not nervous. "Take deep breaths" .... *sigh* im not nervous alright.? "Ready.? This wont hurt" Yes i know it wont hurt. "Its ok you can relax now" I was relaxed anyway!!!!!!!!!

I think some Nurses just have an automatic Speech they use when dealing with every patient, regardless! It's wrong really.I had blood taken the other day, the practise Nurse knows I am a Nurse, yet proceeded to say the exact same thing to me!

Its just their job, they don't know what you're thinking, i'm sure a lot of people they deal with are usually nervous so rather than have to take the time to try and figure out each person individually they treat everyone as if they're nervous.Health Question & Answer
