I got the Turkey trots in Istanbul. A local doctor gave me an antibiotic injection followed by tablets over 5 days. I lost my appetite and quite a bit of weight. It lasted for weeks (not the trots, but being unable to eat much).
The stomach pains lingered on for a bit.

The bug has been eating at the lining of your stomach and has caused inflammation. It's not serious and will probably clear up in the next couple of weeks but see your doctor anyway to be sure.Health Question & Answer
