Long Term Indigestion Problems - Any Help?!
Question: Long Term Indigestion Problems - Any Help.?
I've had problems with my tummy since I was about 10 (I'm now 29) and have tried everything to figure out what's causing it. I've tried Tagamet, Lansoprazole, had an endoscopy and a sigmoidoscopy, had a 24 hour PH test and a swallowing test. All the tests have come back 'normal' but I still feel like sh*t most days. I get heartburn mostly (even though I'm on 30mg Lansoprazole every day) but I can get a feeling of being punched in the tummy too. On top of all this, I also get frequent sessions of loose poop. I am so fed up. The doctors seem to have run out of ideas and I've been signed off sick for about 5+ years. Does anyone have any advice for me.? I am so fed up. I feel like a prisoner in my own body sometimes and just want to be better.Health Question & Answer

You might have an food allergy/food intolerance. I believe that health professionals are far too quick to rule these out and take what might appear the easier option in terms of medicating. I had lots of similar difficulties for years and eventually discovered that I am allergic to mono sodium glutamate. I went on a very bland diet for a couple of weeks and as I gradually reintroduced food it became very clear what was causing the difficulties. It is important to remember that foods that appear the same may have very different ingredients. I now generally avoid anything with artificial colours/flavours and don't have any more difficulties. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.Health Question & Answer
I'm wondering if they did any intollerance tests on you as well as the endoscopic examinations. Could be you have a yeast intolerance.Health Question & Answer
