It depends on how much your eyes run. I have allergies and especially in the fall wake up with my eyes stuck shut, because my hayfever makes my eyes run. Other times it could be something in your room, dust, etc. But your eyes run a little any night, and it dries. But the more your eyes run, the more of it you have.
