My cut could be infected.? I cut my finger 6 days ago! It is still open and is swollen a little and hurts. There is nothing coming out of it and are no weird colors. What should i do.?Health Question & Answer

this could be due to deep gash wound and so for doesnt look infected , but definately inflamatory process is making it painful a little and swollen . keep the finger a closed dressing after appyling an antibiotic spray. these wounds heal from deeper tissues to superficial layers. wil be alright in a weeks time . yuo can take SOS ibuprofen tabs 400mg on full stomach.Health Question & Answer
If it is a small cut put an antibiotic ointment and a bandage on it. How serious is the cut.? Should it have had stitches.? If it is a larger injury maybe you should seek medical attention.Health Question & Answer
Redness, swelling, heat, and "puss", are all signs of infection. 6 days is a long time for a cut to still be open. I'd go to a clinic.Health Question & Answer

As long as there is no yellow or green puss you are okay. Clean it...and wrap it until it closes a little. You can expect it to be sore for a while. Health Question & Answer
Keep it clean (with water and soap) and covered with a bandaid to keep out harmful germs. Use an antibiotic ointment a couple times a day. Watch for a discharge. DO NOT use peroxide.
