What kind of headache is it, and what have you tried so far.?
I find different pain requires different analgesics. Excedrin (tylenol, aspirin, and caffeine in one tablet,) works for more severe regular headaches, (not migraines). For a duller or lighter headache, advil works well. Best of luck, headaches suck.
