Question: Leg pain on walking starting from hips down to legs. I have been given two hydrcortizon injections on each hip.?
I am a walker doing walking excercise 1 - 2 hours/day for the past 15 years. Since 6 months ago I have leg pain during my walk, starting from my hip down to both legs. The X-ray and MRI images do not indicate any pinched nerves, but there is inflammation on the hips. Two cortizon injections have been applied but to no avail. I have been doing hip exercices and leg stretch every morning, having no accute ilnesses and do not smoke nor drink alcohol. Can anyone tell me what to do next .?Health Question & Answer

Hi, Harry M - Welcome to yahoo answers - I see that you joined yesterday - I'm not clear of which part of the body they took xrays of or the MRI - but if you have inflammation of the hips would indicate you may have arthritis, Did you see a general practitioner or a orthopedic surgeon.? Are you on any medication or changed you medication.? Since the cortisone injection did not help - I would go back to get further evaluation and testing done. You could be dealing with something like sciatica (a condition that causes pain for the sciatic nerve which runs from the hip down the leg).
You mentioned that you had an x-ray and an MRI of these areas but if it's been a while since they were done there might be some changes now. I would recommend getting another opinion, preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor who ran the tests, to see what they think could be going on.Health Question & Answer
