Question: Physical Therapy Jobs.?
I took an online course to get a job as a Physical Therapy Aide. I really wanted to do it but where I live (Washington St.) no one seems to want to hire Aides. All's anyone wants to do is hire therapists or assistants.
I'm not going to take more courses to get my certification as an assistant if I can't get a job as an Aide first.
I am curious to know from therapists and Aides out there what it takes to get into this field.
I gave up and I'm working from home doing something else but I'm still curious.

There is no need to become an aide first if you want to become a PTA or PT.
The courses for certification for a PT aide are misleading because:
A. You don't need a certification to become an aide
B. They make it sound like it is an "easy" way to bridge to becoming a PT or PTA
C. It's a big cost for a job that pays very little (most techs/aides make about minimum wage)
Don't get me wrong, it's a good experience if you do want to become a PT or PTA...but it is certainly not required. ....and there are many jobs for PTs and PTAs, but not so for techs/aides.Health Question & Answer
