Question: What is sore lump in throat.?
i woke up this morning and my throat overall is not sore but on the right side (about where you would take a pulse) there feels like a sore lump on the inside. I can feel it when I swallow but not by touching throat with hand, fingers. each time i swallow there's also lots of phlegm that tries to come up. this type of problem has happened to me year after year since I was 8 yrs. old. What is all this and how can I fix it without going to doc.? Like so many Americans i don't have time or health care. Health Question & Answer

That sounds like one of your glands. Usually (but not necessarily) the one on the other side is sore too. It also sounds very much like you have a flu virus.
You need rest and lots of fluids. I like to have lots of hot spicy stuff, not oily and esp no dairy which increases phlegm! Garlic is good too as all this makes you sweat the virus out.
Once you have had one particular strain of flu you are immune to it but the flu virus mutates constantly so every year there is a new strain of it that you won't be immune to. Just have to weather it. If you can't afford to get it then you should get a flu vaccine each fall.Health Question & Answer
