Question: How do i make this feeling go away.....?
Okay so i have this annoying lump like feeling in my throat. It feels its toward the back of my throat, im not sure if thats the case though. But it gives me the urge to swallow. Its disgusting like it feels like mucus in the back of my throat or something. My stomach had this tight feeling like it was sucked in or something. But it had kind of gone away, (it may come back though) Do you think i may vomit. If so how can i prevent it. If i can't prevent it how do deal with a vomiting episode psychologically/mentally. Because i have this fear of vomiting and i really really don't want to vomit. And i may not have a choice here. please help im sort of freaking out and frantic about the whole situation. I need to deal with this fear in a calm rational positive way. Are these even vomiting symptoms at all or am i freaking out over nothing. please helpHealth Question & Answer

This might sounds strange but if you have a post-nasal drip, mucus would be dripping down from the sinuses into the back of your throat - and if your gag reflex is strong enough it could make you want to vomit. Have you recently gotten over having a cold or flu, or are you feeling sick otherwise. You might do a little experiment and take one dose of a cold decongestant to see if it has any impact on what you are feeling. A decongestant will dry up any mucus forming and may stop a post-nasal drip - if you have one. Taking this medicine just once or at the most twice to see shouldn't harm you, but if it does not help at all then do not take again. If it's no help, you might want to bring it up with a doctor the next time you see one. Try what I suggested to see if you can get some relief.Health Question & Answer
