if there was a "numbness" in your back, then that is probably a serious sign of a bad injury. Make sure you take some ibuprofen for the pain, and if you need more relief talk to a doctor. If you feel ANYTHING in your back again, you seriously need to go to a doctor because damaging something in your back can lead to much worse problems than a bruised tailbone.Health Question & Answer

Even though you can talk to your doctor about it, there is not much they can do besides give you something for the pain. Just like broken rib, you just have to let it heal. There is no surgery or way to stabilize the bone. Just take it easy and rest it. You may want to get one of those donut cushions from the drug store. You can take anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Tylenol, aspirin, etc. Health Question & Answer
