So sorry to hear that but while you are waiting, start to change your diet. I have some problems myself and I was told by a blood specialist that my blood needed cleaning. To clean your blood and get rid of the toxins which is giving your white cells too much work to do...start to eat lots of green vegetables. Eat everything that's green. Green leaves like spinach, Cabbages, Lettuces etc. Eat avocados, Cucumbers, Courgettes and lots of tomatoes, green beans, green peas etc. Try to cut out or cut down on all meats, Sugar, processed foods and Carbos for a while to help your body get rid of the acid in your stomach which is overwhelming your white blood cells.
My specialist told me to do this for 3 months....Good luck. Health Question & Answer

Among other things white blood cells fight infection. Pus in a wound = dead white blood cells and skin cells, proof they have been fighting an infection.
They can decrease in response to diseases of the immune system, viral infections, chemo and radiotherapy and in response to some drugs.
They increase in response to bacterial infections, inflammation, stress, intense exercise.
Silly to say no use worrying because you will worry, but you have seen your doctor and the problem is being properly investigated.
Health Question & Answer

The white cells contribute to your immunity.

I have no spleen and always have an elevated white cell count as if my body is fighting infection.

Wait for your results. It could be anything!Health Question & Answer
