Is it normal to feel my heartbeat while resting?!

Question: Is it normal to feel my heartbeat while resting.?
Is it normal for me to be able to feel my heart beating in my chest right now as I am sitting here.? I am not feeling anxious or anything at the moment although I do have anxiety and depression problems. but a lot of the time I can just feel my heart beating, and sometimes I have palpitations (fluttering). My blood pressure is normal, my heart rate is currently 83 bpm. Usually it is 70.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
A heart rate of 83 is not an abnormal finding, especially if you are feeling nervous or anxious about something.

Because your blood pumps throughout your body, you can feel and sometimes hear that pulsation. Sometimes it might be your actual heartbeat, but it can also be the sound of the blood being pumped into your major arteries and back through your major veins.

also, if you are concentrating on your heartbeat, it often becomes easier to hear. So don't panic, you're probably fine! A slight flutter of your heart from time-to-time is also nothing to panic about, but if you are very concerned, bring it up to your doctor the next time you go in for a check-up. At your age, there shouldn't be too much of a concern, unless you have an extensive family history of cardiovascular problems.Health Question & Answer
