Hi Scoob - yup, did Zyban about 2 years ago. By day six my addiction was 99% gone - by end of week 2 - I no longer had any desire to smoke.
My doctor told me the course was for 12 weeks - ha! What the heck! By week three I figured I was swallowing the tabs for no other reason than his advice.
So I threw the remaining tabs away and just kept off the weed.
Thankfully my giving up smoking more or less coincided with the universal UK smoke ban in public places. Which suits me just fine. I'm not a Zealot and if anyone else wants to smoke, be my guess, but not inside the restaurant or pub etc. Thanks.
Keep going and you'll get off the weed forever and that's a promise.
What the Zyban tabs do is to slowly shut down the nicotine receptors created in the brain when you got addicted. All you gotta do is get un-addicted - which is exactly what the Zyban tabs will do.
I read somewhere that if a man never smoked ever in his life, he would have the same lung capacity at age 60 as when he was 16.
Bears thinking about. For me it was a half century of sucking on a bunch of dead weed, slowly choking up my lungs etc. Cannot say I'm any fitter, but I certainly am healthier.

i have taken it and it was prescribed by a doctor, i was only on it for 2 days and had a very bad reaction to it.always be carefully some meds can cause very bad reactions in some people.ask the doctor and see what the ingredients are in it and what the delivery system is to see if you are allergic to anything in it before you take it.for instance allot of diabetic meds have sulfa in them and anyone allergic to sulfa cant take them.always be very careful and make sure your doctor and pharmacist has all of that on record because it can kill you.Health Question & Answer
That's cool mate, I went cold turkey after my 30th birthday party, got so drunk that was sick for 3 days and thought well if I can go 3 days I'm over the worst of it, I missed the ones after meals for a while but hung tough and did it, but if this medication is working for you thats really great and you'll be surprised at the difference in the taste of food and the smell as well, everything is just better, hope you can stick with it, goodluck my friend! :)Health Question & Answer
My hubby took that! He was a mess. He couldn't sleep & he couldn't relax.He took it for about a week.He had to quit before he had a nervous break down.It works for some people just not him.After seeing him like that I don' want anything to do with that drug. Found that the side effects were worse than smoking. Panic attacks for no reason and waking up in the middle of the night drenched with sweat. Yes it reduced my smoking but the consequences were worse than going cold turkey.Health Question & Answer
