I am a 21 year old female and don't know why I would get them, although they were genetic from my father. He said they disappeared in his twenties, so I'm just waiting. I see the spots in my right eye towards the bottom and then get dizzy and nauseated. Sleeping and throwing up help a little but sometimes the next day there is a little left over, like now, I am starting to see the spots again. I have gotten them so severe before that the doctor couldn't even figure out a cure. I use to take Imatrex, which worked wonders, but now without insurance I can't afford that stingy price. I take Excederin Migraine, two or three at a time every two hours if need be. I have an 18 month old and am pregnant with my second so I don't want to be severely sedated on drugs, or incapable of taking care of my 18 month old. Please any advice would be appreciated!! Hi, I am really sorry and can feel for you, because I have been a chronic migraine/tension headache sufferer since I was five years old. Please look on the label of your Excederin Migraine. I am pretty sure that it contains asperin. If it does, stop taking it. You should not take asperin or any other anti-inflammatory medications such as advil,motrin,etc. They can cause bleeding. As far as getting samples of Imitrex, no doctor will give them to you because they affect your blood vessels and are dangerous to take when pregnant. I would ask your doctor if he or she would be willing to prescribe you Fioricet. It is safe to take in moderation when you are pregnant. It helped me.

Please paste fenugreek seeds (methi Indian name of the seed) with micro surgical tape, on tip of your thumb. These may be pasted the whole day and night or only at night. Press the thumb pasted with fenugreek between the thumb and the index finger of the next hand. Pressing to be done four to five times in the day, for about a minute or two each time. If you do not have insurance, and you are pregnant - try caffeine instead of otc medications. If you already drink it, then you'll need to up how much you take. After the pregnancy, work at getting of caffeine - so you can use it medicinally.
Now, without rude assumptions - you are very young to be a mother, much less expecting a second child. You probably have a lot of stress. Somehow, you will need to rid yourself of that stress. Let someone else do your worrying. Being happy will help prevent migraines.
Next, contact PPA to see if you qualify for prescription assistance. You can get on Topamax after you deliver. This is a migraine preventative medication. It is cheaper than the triptans (like Imitrix or Zomig).
