I'm not sure. I have had two experiences with what was suspected as appendicitis. One was ovulation believe it or not. The other was irritated bowel syndrome, brought on by stress (my mom was very ill). It looks like pain from the appendix is caused by infection- see my source.

Usually if you are having appendicitis, It is extremely painful. You would not be able to deal with it for a year.
However, there is another structure that does commonly cause pain in that area. It is your Ileo-cecal valve. This is where the small intestines and large intestines join. It can be affected by diet, physical conditioning and stress (which I would be willing to bet you have).
A good chiropractor who specializes in Applied Kinesiology(AK) would be able to help this.
