Please help with pain medication. ?!

Question: Please help with pain medication. .?
I have lots of pain in my back and the doctor gave me darvocet. I usually don't take it until my children have gone to bed because Im scared of getting sleepy after taking it and not being able to take care of my children. So I take about 2-3 goody powders a day. Im worried about what is going to happen to my body after taking all this medication. also I do have the occasional drink mostly on the weekends. So what will it do to me and also can I take 1 1/2 darvocet for back pain. One doesnt alway get rid of it. Please HelpHealth Question & Answer

Answers:
Hi there! I take Darvocet everyday for bad hips and knees. Yes you can take 1 1/2 at one time with nothing bad happening. Now I have taken 3 darvocet a day for the last 6 years. I have not become addicted. If you stick to the amount of pills a day your script is written for nothing bad will happen to you. There is a lot of Tylenol in Darvocet. and too much of it isn't good for your liver.
Anyway - if you only take the daily amount of pills that is on the label of the pill bottle you cannot become addicted. This only happens when you take many more than you should for a long time. People have a right not to be in pain every day of their life if a simple pill or two will do the trick. I was born with birth defects and pain. As long as you pay attention to your mental health as well as your physical you should be fine. Just be sure to take them for pain in your body - and not pain in your mind or soul. That's when people get themselves into trouble. Wishing you much good luck.Health Question & Answer

Darvocet can cause dependency. Be careful, you sound like you already have addictive tendencies. Talk to your doctor.Health Question & Answer
