Back Injury Problem ? ? ? ?!

Question: Back Injury Problem .? .? .? .?
This might sound stupid but about 3 years ago I fell out of a window, which was quite high. Since then I had to stop most sports because I was worried it might trigger something in my back again. When I fell out the window, I couldnt move for about 5 minutes. Does anyone know what might of happened.? I landed on my bottom but on the part where the tail bone is. :S Help.? also, my back is really curved now. Health Question & Answer

Hi there,

Sorry to hear of your accident. I also suffer from back probs. I've had all sorts of sporting injuries. This will make you laugh but one injury was very painful. I was learning how to iceskate coz i wanted to get into ice hockey, but within the 1st half an hour of getting on the ice, i fell on my bottom and hurt the small of my back, right at the bottom, and like you i hurt my tail bone as i fell down pretty hard on it. I couldn't sit down properly as it was so painful, and was signed off work for 2 weeks. It can still get bad now. I have a desk job but i need to keep taking breaks away from sitting at my desk. The best advise i can give is to stay active as much as possible but not over do it. Just try light exercises. But then if too sore, have a lay down not sit down as that puts more pressure on the small of your back. And im the worst for telling people about posture as mine is not great, but sitting up straight helps, and stretching every now and again. Swimming also helps. And yoga or pilates too. Maybe try physiotherapy. Im alwaus scared about hurting my back again, but u just need to be careful and be aware that doing too much can start it off. I hope this helps a little.

Take care
