Question: Sharp pain by my ribs.?
hi, i am 15 and for the last 3 days, i have noticed a sharp pain by my lower left ribs, when i breath in or out, its not my ribs that hurt, its inside, in that area, i really dont know much about anatomy, so i am not sure what it could be..it feels like i am being poked with a scissor, it comes and goes. It could be gas trapped in your ribs. That should go away shortly though.
Otherwise, you may have pulled an intercostal muscle. They wrap around your ribs. I have pulled one (twice), and it hurt to breathe for over 3 weeks. Sucks.
If it isn't either of those things, you may have broken a rib or hurt yourself somehow. Best to tell an adult and get it checked out. Just in case. Health Question & Answer
