What is causing a recurring neck pain in the front left side?!

Question: What is causing a recurring neck pain in the front left side.?
Back in June of this year, after mowing my lawn I notice what I thought was a sore throat. It felt a little scratchy and my neck was tender to the touch but only on the left side. I first thought it was my allergies acting up so I took allergy medication with no relief. I notice a slight wet cough and I didn't feel well overall. The lasted 4-5 days.

It came back about a month later and because I was in the middle of moving and packing up things I thought that maybe I tore a muscle. I thought nothing else of it until a few weeks ago. Still I thought it was a muscle.

Yesterday, 4 months after the first occurance I awoke with the same symptoms. Only difference was that the burning sensation way down in my throat was worse. I dont have a family doctor so I went to a walk in clinic. The doc said my throat (what he could see) looked fine and it wasnt the muscle but something behind the muscle and I had to agree.

He said I was a mystery....he gave me a perscription for pain, advised me to find a family doctor and sent me on my way.
Does anyone have any idea to what may be causing my pain and discomfort.?Health Question & Answer
