it never started bleeding so much.... 2 years ago my nose started to bleed ALOT! ever since, my nose has been bleeding like ALOT! not everyday but once in a while and when it does its really bad! what can it mean and how can i help it from bleeding so much.?.?Health Question & Answer

well you should
1.hold your fingers right where your nostrils meet your bone (and hold TIGHT it should be hurting)
2. do not lean your head back this will push the blood down your throat
3. put ice or a damp cloth on the top of your nose and forehead.
4. obviously put a tisue under it

I used to have this problem a lot when I was younger. I went to the doctor many times about it, but they didn't know what was wrong. Finally, I found a doctor who figured it out, I had a vein that was too close to the surface so anything could cause it to break, from sudden change in temperature to a strong perfume. So they chemically burned the vein away, it was painless, and I never have nose bleeds anymore. That may be something you want to look into, it worked perfectly for me, but sometimes you may need a second visit as you get older, but its no big deal! im 12 and have had this problem since the age of 3!
we went the ENT place and the doctor told me i have an enlarged cappilery (big blood vesel). Mine are normally triggered by heat or blows to the nose or nothing! the only thing you can do is treat them as they come or one thing i could have had done was have the thingy singed with like a hot torch thingy apparently it stops or i use naeseptin cream, works wonders.

Nose bleeds are usually caused by the mucous membranes drying out and cracking, or trauma. Have you been using nasal sprays like Afrin.? these constrict the blood vessels and dry up the membranes. Dont pick at your nose either, this can cause trauma. I would say use a moisterizing saline spray several times a day and a humidifier at night. If it dont get better in several days, see a doctor

i think we are in the same boat. that is my nose bleed when i was around 10 and from then it has been bleeding on and off. well that is nothing so far that i can do as i have seen a few doctors and what thay have told me is i have taken too heaty foods. anyway as soon as you bleed lie down straight and put a cold wet towel on your forehead. it sure helps trust me
