Question: HELP sudden EXTREME abdominal pain.?
got out of bed to use the restroom(pee) by the time i crossed the hall i was doubled over in pain. have ben fine all day, no pain during urination. it feels like a bad pregnancy contraction. but only in the pelvic area. what do I do!!!

It actually may be a sustained uterine contraction. I've had two episodes in my life of such pain that came on like that, and subsided just as fast. these were years apart, and never amounted to anything. Having given birth 3 times prior to these, I knew what labor felt like, and these were the same pain. I still don't know why they came on. If it doesn't subside after 45 minutes, it is lasting longer than my longest one did. At some point, you'll have to call for help if it keeps up just to be on the safe side. If you are not bleeding and have no other symptoms, it sounds like a muscular spasm of a pelvic organ, or could originate in the intestine.Health Question & Answer
It could be a bad case of gas, that gets caught in your intestine. But if it continues, I would call 911, or visit your local emergency room because it could be any number of things.Health Question & Answer
