I'm 19, is it normal that I get heartburn?!

Question: I'm 19, is it normal that I get heartburn.?
I found out its when I drink soda I get this unbelievable pain that is heartburn in my chest. But it feels like theres something cold coming up in my throat too. Could that be acid reflux.? I didn't know heartburn could be so bad, I feel sometimes like I could have a heartattack, and I always have my cell next to me when its happening cause I feel like I might have to call an ambulance. But it might be cause I'm new to this feeling, never had heartburn till the past couple weeks.

I was never in bad shape, but I broke up with my girlfriend who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I became very depressed but never showed it, usually I bottle everything up as not to appear distressed or sad to anyone. I don't like being vulnerable. But I could actually feel pains in my chest everytime I thought about her, it was that bad. Anyways, I started eatin alot lately and even over endulging to the point where Im sick and I cant stop it! I dont know why. I try to say stop it to myself but nothing works. I need help or any advice. And any natural remedies to stop this heartburn. I can't afford a doctor, I'm by myself in this world and don't have insurance at this point.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Acid reflux is basically excessive heartburn, usually with vomiting and such. So, unless you're having chronic symptoms, it sounds like you just need to lay off the soda.

The girl has nothing to do with it, but I went through the same thing; a broken heart is a legitimate condition that really does make your heart physically hurt.Health Question & Answer

See your doctor this can be medicated . Acid reflux can damage your esophagus and cause ulcers . Many times it's caused by anxiety. Although it's very painful in the center of your chest , it doesn't cause heart attacks.
But do yourself a favor and see your doctor , who can fix it rather easily.Health Question & Answer
