You don't say what part of the arm got hit, but with a baseball bat it really doesn't matter. You may have a hairline fracture in one of the bones and the swelling is fluid being put there by your body to protect something. Probably best to get an x-ray taken just to make sure. Your arm is throbbing because the fluid and deep bruise is probably squeezing or pushing against an artery. I hope that you put ice packs on the injury during the first twenty four hours. Wishing you the very best young lady and I hope nothing is broken. It will take a while for the bruising and swelling to go down. Best that you elevate the arm when you are resting, that will help the swelling some. Good luck to you.Health Question & Answer
