It's not a stupid question if you don't know the answer. People who are paralyzed have no feeling from the point of where the spinal cord is damaged on down. Where exactly they lack sensation depends on the location of the damage- and a person with spinal damage that affects the legs may still have some feeling in the trunk of the body itself. It's not a stupid question at all. My uncle is now paralyzed after a bad motorcycle accident. He is paralyzed from the chest down. He cant move his body, and he cant feel anything. After doin some therapy, he's now able to lift himself in and out of his wheelchair on his own. And he got some work done to his car too, so hes able to drive as much as he wants too. Some lose sensation but still can walk.
