Should be alright. I get them every so often and I'm good after a day. But mine are 0.5 cm large... Makes me jump about a bit. Last time i had to go to hospital because of the pain. I was good by the next day.
However if she can't pass it/them by herself and needs medical help to do it, she might be in hospital for a few days (2 at most). That's if there aren't any unforeseen complications. If its just sand it'll sting a lot when she pees but she'll be alright.

They don't zap them with a laser they put you in an ultrasonic bath and shatter them with sound vibrations. This turns them in to "sand" and you can pass them off easier.Health Question & Answer

It is hard to tell. She might be perfectly fine in the near future or she might experience pain because of her condition. My friend had a huge episode (was in tremendous pain) which receded within a day, following a hospital visit, and he is fine ever since. So it depends on your friend, how she feels, but she could also ask her doctor about his/her opinion about going for a short trip.Health Question & Answer
