Question: Is it possible to become a doctor early.?
this guy was talking about how in foreign countries how they're more advanced in math and things like that...and he said if you were to live out there and study to be a doctor and come to America you'd be ahead and you could be a doctor early...but wouldn't you have to take the number of years of schooling it would take to be a doctor in America if you wanted to work here.?.?.? Someone said if you are ahead and start younger you could be a doctor in like your mid twenties or something.?.? Is that possible.?.? Graduate college after 4 years: age 22
Graduate medical school after 4 years: age 26
Anesthesia residency generally 4 years: finish at age 30
If you skip grades before medical school, you can finish when you are younger. Once you start medical school, it is gnerally a disadvantage to have bene trained in another country (from the standpoint of amount of time it takes). Most foregin doctors who come to this country then have to repeat their residency training. I know physicians who were professofr at medical schools in their homelands, who had to repeat their residency training when they got to the U.S.
Some states in the U.S. make it VERY difficult for physicians who graduated from foreign medical schools to get a medical license. Even physicians who graduated from a foreign school, and then did their residency in the U.S. can have a very hard time with this.Health Question & Answer
