I have to wake up in the middle of the night to take my antibiotics?!

Question: I have to wake up in the middle of the night to take my antibiotics.?
I have to go to cheerleading tryouts really early tomorrow morning, so I'm going to bed at 8:30. I have to take antibiotics for a gum infection every six hours, and i took them at 6:00 pm, so now I have to wake up at 12:00 am to take the next dosage. I don't want to wake up in the middle of the night, because I need a full night of sleep tonight. Can I miss a dose.? What should I do.? Health Question & Answer

YUCK! I hate it when pills run into this dilemma. But I think the reason for the cycle is to insure the medication stays at a constant level in your bloodstream. Infections are tricky and if you don't take the right dosages then they can come back stronger than before. I would suggest putting a glass of water and the medication next to your bedside. If you have a cell phone set the alarm on it to midnight. When the alarm goes off you won't have to get out of bed or completely wake up. Just take it, be done with it and go back to sleep.Health Question & Answer

It depends on what time you wake up...if you wake up at 3 then you should take it at 9 right before you go to sleep so you wont have to wake up in the middle of the night. If you are going to wake up at 4, go to sleep until 10 wake up, take it, and then you wont take it until you get up to go to cheerleading practice. So it depends on if you miss a dose will it slow the healing process down.? (more than likely) , but hope I helpedHealth Question & Answer

you shouldn't miss a dose.... take itHealth Question & Answer
