Question: I have Osgood Schlatter and i am a serious dancer...?
i had to quit dance for 6 months starting last Christmas break. i started up again after Labor Day and everything with my knees were fine until a month ago when my knees started hurting SO MUCH!! i should have been on pointe in ballet last year if it wasn't for my stupid knees. i ice them every night until the ice packs melt and i compress them and elevate them. It is so painful, Osgood-Schlatter. it's worse in my right knee but they are both still pretty bad. how long will this last.? i don't want to quit dance again, i never want to give it up. any advice like any certain foods i should eat, how long will it last.?, crutches.?..please help.? You should be stretching the leg muscles, upper and lower, front and back, also try massage therapy on the tendon, around the kneecap and on the legs as well. OS comes from the bones growing faster than the muscles, so if you work on loosening the muscles, it should give some relief.Health Question & Answer
