I have finally got my acid reflux under control, but the other day it reoccured. Besides the obvious (eliminating coffee and beer for instance) what else can you do to reduce acidity from your diet.?Health Question & Answer

Balance is the key. Eat more greens. If you have an episode that hurts you can instantly put 1 teaspoon of baking soda in about 4 oz. of water and drink slowly. The soda neutralizes the acidity in your system. also, introduce live enzyme foods in your diet, such as papayas, mangos, sprouts, or purchase chlorophyll and drink 1 tsp. 3 times a day. I have an ulcer & acid reflux, taking DGL (you can get it at your local health or vitamin store) lozenges about 30mins before you eat help a lot. They coat your throat (and stomach) and prevent acids from burning you.

To get the best effect on your throat, it's best to suck on them.
