Alright so I just got over a small cold and today I noticed that my left ear was going deaf kinda. I can still hear out of it but barely and now it hurts so bad that I can't even go to sleep and I had to type this question. What it could it be and what can I do about it.?Health Question & Answer

i bet it's an ear infection. go to your doc, he will probably look in your ear, see if its read and swollen, and prescribe you antibiotics. be careful driving as these can affect your depth perception and such if the infection gets bad enough (it is close to important parts in your brain).

If you had a cold, it sounds like it could be a throat infection.
I had infected tonsils a few months ago and I had the WORST earache of my life... I was crying and couldn't hardly move... it turned out that it wasn't really an ear problem but that my tonsils were so swollen and sore that it was hurting right up into my ear canal...
So that could be it... or you could just have an ear infection.

sounds like an ear infection. definately go the doctor ASAP. but until then put a warm wash cloth over the ear that hurts and if you have it take ibuprofen for the pain.Health Question & Answer
