Are brown recluse spiders deadly?!
Question: Are brown recluse spiders deadly.?
in michiganHealth Question & Answer
Answers:
I got bitten by one a few years ago (in my left buttock as I was sitting in a lawn chair, in Texas), and I found out (after internet research) that many people find the spiders in shoes, on sheets and in garages, usually while reaching for something, and get bitten mostly on their fingers, hands and arms. Those bitten don't realize the severity of the bite and neglect to see a doctor. The affected area can grow and actually cause a person to lose a finger or more, if unattended. If the person does not get medical care fairly quickly, things could turn deadly.
I had to go the hospital and have a plastic surgeon remove the necrotic (dead, black) skin, dig out inside and then sew back up.
It is suggested that you clean up areas left unattended and wipe off stuff that hasn't been cleaned up in a while.Health Question & Answer
