Unfortunately I know all about them. I have one on my right wrist and I am right handed. It started forming years ago. It hurt so bad while it was forming but I heard from ppl that had them removed that they wished they had not. Doctors cannot guarantee the degree of severity until they " get in there" with a knife basically. They also cannot guarantee the outcome of the surgery. It could make it worse or better. In a lot of cases I spoke to which involved wrist areas it complicated things and made ugly scars. I don't care about a scar if it makes things better but theres just no guarantee. I know ppl that had them removed from other areas and were happy. My ganglion over the years had died down at times , then slowly grown again and is right now pretty big. Overall I do quite well with it. I work with my hands heavily daily. Sometime I just need to exercise them a bit in movements and ways I don't usually use . Sometimes soaking them in saltwater is soothing but overall I have been fine. I am very careful lifting things because lifting very heavy things and moving wrists simultaneously upward kinda is a killer. I don't spend long nights on-line like I used to either ... lol... good luck!! : )Health Question & Answer

ganglion cyst is a sac connected with the joint capsule that fills with fluid from the joint and that's why i gets bigger and hurt.
they can aspirate the fluid but i'll come back, so it's better to be removed surgically. usually it's done by an orthopedic surgeon, and it's a simple operation done under local anesthesia

so don't worry about it, you'll be as good as new once you remove it

N.B: i'm a Dr so i know what i'm saying ;) Health Question & Answer
