What dose of Flax Seed Oil capsules should I be taking?!
Question: What dose of Flax Seed Oil capsules should I be taking.?
I have been told by my doctor to take Flax seed Oil in a capsule form, in order to help with the dryness of my eyes that is affecting my usage of contact lenses. On the bottle, it says I should take 2 capsules 3 times daily (which I imagine means at meal times), and they are, I do believe, 1000 mg capsules. I feel, however, like this is a very large dose...or perhaps it is just the size of the pills daunting me. If anyone could direct me in this, I would be grateful. I recall my doctor giving me a dose, but this was some time ago, and I can't remember. Thank you.Health Question & Answer

That dose is fine. The pills look big, but if you poked them open and put the liquid in a spoon it's not much. I take that dose to help my seasonal eczema and it helps a lot with dry itchy skin, so it will probably help dry eyes, too. Health Question & Answer
Ask the pharmacist. They are so smart, kind, and helpful. You could even call a 24-hour pharmacy right now. Be sure to talk to the pharmacist.
I have dry eyes too, and my ophthalmologist recommended "Optive" drops 3-4 times a day, and Refresh PM ointment at night. It's working great.
Bless you and good luck :)
