How much does nutrition matter in determining a persons height?!

Question: How much does nutrition matter in determining a persons height.?

I'm of average height for a male(5'9), but I've noticed that when I'm around a bunch of rich people I feel like a midget. It just seems to me that rich people(men and women) get quite a bit taller(and have more proportional features, square faces, proportional bodies) than do poor people. I know that rich people can afford healthier food(and yes, healthy food costs a fortune, I can't afford to buy milk anymore) but I always thought that genetics was the primary force driving the physical development of a person. It just seems to me that a lot of poor people have really thin faces, narrow shoulders, and are short.Health Question & Answer

Nutrition actually matters a great deal on height. And it does make sense that wealthier people would be taller in general. If you look back at history, humans used to be an average of around 5 feet tall, even only a thousand years ago. With today's knowledge of nutrition, we're taller because we know what's healthy and what helps us grow. Back in those days, they ate what they could find.Health Question & Answer
