My butthole bleeds everytime I use the restroom. What is wrong?!

Question: My butthole bleeds everytime I use the restroom. What is wrong.?
Every time I wipe after using the can, my butthole will start bleeding bright red blood and feeling like it's chapped. Not a lot of blood comes out. It usually stops and dries within a minute or two. But that, and my butthole feeling like it's chapped makes it a little painful to sit in certain positions. I've had this problem for a couple of months now and it wasn't started by diarrhea.
I've started to notice this after I ran 4 miles while holding "nature" in.
Now I don't know if it was caused because I held it in while running for 30minutes, if I have been wiping too hard recently, or if I have been wiping too much. As far as I know, I'm not internally bleeding, as I'm not bleeding dark colored blood. I'm also not noticing any bumps around my butthole.
So the questions: Why am I having this problem.? How do I go about this.? Will baby wipes be a good solution.? Health Question & Answer

The bleeding comes from tearing or scraping the rectum when you go - either your stool is too dry or you've held too long and the muscles tightly constrict and then when the stool passes through it can tear the skin when you finally do go - that is what causes the bleeding. If it's the muscles constricting, try not to hold, change your schedule a bit, try to go before running. Drink more water, especially within a half hour after eating meals.

Edit: I don't agree with a suggestion that it might be hemorrhoids - you would have significant other symptoms including burning, pain and itching and unless you have those hemorrhoids would not be the problem.Health Question & Answer
