I have to go for a blood test and I have had problems in the past, what can I do to make giving blood easier?!

Question: I have to go for a blood test and I have had problems in the past, what can I do to make giving blood easier.?
I am not afraid of needles and have no problem with injections but for some reason it is difficult to get blood out for tests. I have only had 2 tests before in England but now I have to go for an AIDS test in the caribbean. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Health Question & Answer

I'd had this problem. In the crease of either of your arms, are the veins more prominent in one.? Doctors always used to test on my right arm, and they'd have trouble. Eventually I learned my left arm is a hell of a lot easier because I have a good vein there.

also, make sure you're fully hydrated. I always drink a bottle or two of water before a test. A warm compress, like the first answerer said, will help.Health Question & Answer

Apply a warm compress to the area before putting the needle in. It expands the veins and increases blood flow to the area.Health Question & Answer
