Will hernia surgery be covered by a new health plan if I was diagnosed under an old one?!

Question: Will hernia surgery be covered by a new health plan if I was diagnosed under an old one.?
I'm a recent college graduate and have been paying for my own health insurance. I recently found a bump in my groin, went to the doctors and discovered it was a hernia, albeit a small one. Though I don't have a job right now, I obviously expect to get one in the next couple months. When I do, I will want to move to their insurance plan. At some point I'm going to need to have my hernia surgically taken care of, whether it's in 3 months or 3 years. My question is, will this be covered by a new health plan even though I was diagnosed under an old one.?Health Question & Answer

Employer-provided health insurance cannot deny you based on a pre-existing condition... although they may deny coverage for THAT condition for a year or so. Just find out... each company and even the plans are different.Health Question & Answer

Unlikely, as this is a pre-existing condition. It's like buying house insurance after your house gets damaged.Health Question & Answer
