Would dry apricots be bad for someone who has a sore throat?!

Question: Would dry apricots be bad for someone who has a sore throat.?
Last night i ate some dry apricots and afterward, my throat hurt even more than i did before (i have the flu). Then again, i also went outside and it was cold. Could someone please tell me if dried apricots are bad for you when you have a sore throat.?
Thanks to those who do help me!

you may find them a little acidic and obviously dry, thus they may have an irritating affect but i wouldn't expect they would cause more inflamation or infection unless you have an allergy. if they were from china they might have all manner of chemical on them and that would be an issue.

more cold will definately affect your condition though.
perhaps you should consider whats good for you, citrus, warm drinks and garlic cloves taken whole (or close to whole if they are big) works for me everytime.

response to edit, soak them if you dont mind eating moist apricots. i would do it with brandy. but thats me, water is ok but BOOORRRINGGGG!Health Question & Answer

I was never recomended apricots, but I do know when I have a sore throat my mom inlaw tells me to eat a spoon ful of honey, it works for me. As for a cold or the flu I always have chicken soup, and lots of water + liquid juice

J J p.s stay away from apricots 4 awhile.

probably not bad for you..just the texture hurt your throat..try boiling them to get them soft and mushy...and gargle with warm salt water, and this is pretty gross but it works..when you drink a cup of hot tea, add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to it..its not the best tasting thing in the world, but it sure beats nyquil or theraflu..and alot cheaper too..

hope you feel better soon!Health Question & Answer

They are not really bad for you. I imagine the dry texture of them could rub against your throat and make it feel worse.Health Question & Answer
