In order to further medical research it appears that coroners have the right, without notifying the next of kin, to remove body parts of the deceased.

It seems in Canada that stealing from the dead is easier than stealing from the living.

In the past (1800s) grave robbing to send to the medical community was a preferred profession. Made above average wages. Only some people went to far, by killing live victims to sell. Once the government figured out what was happening, they made it legal for medical communities to take bodies of unidentified people and use for science, and illegal for bodies to be sold to medical communities through any other method. Once you're dead, you're dead. Your corpse is merely an empty shell. You can not ever come back to life, and you live on as a memory, not a physical entity. (After all, if you're buried, you end up in a coffin and nobody ever sees you again.) Medical research is done to further the knowledge of humanity so that we may be able to save lives in the future... and who does it hurt if the body parts are removed....?

The fact that your religion dictates that you are entitled to something, doesn't mean that you ARE entitled to it!Health Question & Answer

Well folks do donate their bodies and the unidentified homeless can be used.
Seems there are enough bodies to go around.
I don't think it is right to allow coroners to remove parts without family consent, but who is to know.?Health Question & Answer
